Making a Ring Smaller (Sizing Down)

To size down, we cut out a small section of the band, bring the ends together, and laser-weld or solder them shut. The ring remains perfectly round, and the seam is polished until invisible. We don't just compress the ring, which can distort the setting and loosen stones.

Making a Ring Larger (Sizing Up)

To size up, we cut the band and insert a new piece of metal (gold, platinum, or silver) that matches your ring's alloy exactly. We then fuse it together, ensuring the new section blends seamlessly. For minor adjustments (less than half a size), we may be able to stretch the band without cutting.

What Can (and Can't) Be Resized?

⚠️ Limitations (Case-by-Case):

Eternity Bands (Stones all around): Usually cannot be resized without breaking the pattern or compromising structural integrity. Sometimes we can add a sizing bar, or "size up" slightly by shaving the inside metal.
Tension Set Rings: The tension holding the stone is calibrated to a specific size. Resizing often requires resetting the stone.
Engraved Patterns: Sizing will disrupt the pattern at the bottom. We can sometimes re-engrave it, but there may be a visible interruption.
Alternative Metals: We typically do not resize Titanium, Tungsten, Cobalt, or Stainless Steel (these are too hard to cut and weld).

How long does ring resizing take?

Our standard turnaround is 3-5 business days. However, we offer Express Same-Day Service (by appointment) for an additional fee if you need it back urgently.

Will I be able to see the join?

No. Our goal is an invisible seam. We match the metal alloy perfectly and polish it to a high shine. Unless there was a pattern that got interrupted, it should look brand new.

Does resizing weaken the ring?

If done correctly by a professional, no. The welded joint is as strong as the original metal. However, resizing the same ring multiple times (up and down repeatedly) can eventually weaken the metal fatigue. We recommend sizing it once to the perfect fit.

How do I know my correct size?
